While living on the ranch capture the true west in your photography: cattle, horses, wild mustangs, the High Sierra Mountains, rustic old buildings and fall colors provide a great variety of subject matter.

Location:
The Hunewill Ranch is located just east of Yosemite in the beautiful Bridgeport Valley.  This historic cattle ranch has been family owned and operated since it was established in 1861.

Instructor:
Dwayne Leonard, Professional photographer and educator.
  He has a Bachelor of Science Degree and Teacher’s Credentials.  For the past decade Dwayne has been shooting western landscape, ranch culture and activities in the Eastern Sierra and Great Basin.  His work has been published and has received several awards. He is the owner of Ranch Memories Photography and the photographer for Hunewill Ranch.

Workshop Details:

Spring Class: May 28 - June 01, 2019

Classroom learning with a emphasis on improving your photography skills and developing your photographer's eye.

Fall Class: September 16 - 20, 2019

Post development using Adobe Light Room. Developing your style and turning your photos into art.

Both classes will include the following:

  •  Small class sizes to encourage one-on-one instruction.
  •  Classroom learning with an emphasis on improving photography skills and developing your photographer’s eye.
  •  Opportunities to photograph authentic ranch life, working cowboys and horses in a stunning and beautiful setting.
  •  Exciting field trips to High Sierra landscapes, iconic Mono Lake and a ghost town frozen in time, all a short drive from the ranch.
  •  Meals served in a charming dining room in the original 1880s ranch house.
  •  Accommodations are in quiet, comfortable and private cabins.

 

Workshop Pricing:

 Rates include: meals, accommodations (cabin with king and single bed and bath) and workshop tuition. ( These rates do not include taxes and gratuity.)

Single occupancy $1065.00

Double occupancy $893.00

Workshop fee $600.00 per student 

Deposits:

 A deposit is required to hold your place in the workshop.

 Photography workshop fee to be paid to Dwayne Leonard on arrival.

Workshop Includes:

 4 Nights accommodations

 Meals Monday dinner through Friday breakfast

 All field trips and classroom time. Transportation is not provided to field trips and photography locations.

Required Equipment:

  •  DSLR Camera with interchangeable lenses.  Wide angle and telephoto zoom lenses are recommended.
  •  Tripod
  •  Your camera owner’s manual
  •  Portable USB memory card/flash-dive for downloading photos for critiquing. A laptop computer with photo editing software is recommended.
  • Lap Top (optional for Spring class, needed for Fall class)

Workshop Cancellation Policy:

Note:  Workshop field trips are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen situations.  Ranch Memories Photography reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet minimum participant requirements.  In case of program cancellations participants will be informed and refunds issued in a timely manner.  Ranch Memories Photography is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of a course cancellation.  We encourage participants to purchase refundable airline tickets and consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance.

Hunewill Ranch Cancellation/Deposit Refund Policy:

Deposit refund, less a 25% office fee per deposit, will be made only if we are able to fill the vacant space left by your cancellation. No refund of deposit if cancellation is made with less than 21 days notice to us. Guests concerned with loss of deposit may want to consider purchasing Trip Insurance.
